ADULT FILM STARS MEET FANS AT CONVENTION

“She was the minister's daughter who'd won a commendation from the
U.S. Air Force for saving thousands of dollars at military medical
clinics nationwide.
But on Sunday, she was an adult-film star hawking her wares at a
film-and-fan convention.
``I am the girl next door, literally, am literally down the street,''
said Kayla Cam, 33, of Canoga Park, a veteran of six films.
``I watched my first-ever porno film three days ago - I don't see what
the big thrill is.
``It just sounded fun,'' she said of her new life in raunch.
``Last time I checked, my mom and dad live on the other side of the country
and they don't pay my bills.''

Cam was one of several dozen hotties hoping to increase their stake
at the Adultcon 6 consumer convention at the Warner Center Marriott,
where an estimated 1,500 fans paid $30 each to ogle several dozen
scantily clad porn stars, strippers and phone sex workers.

While the performers sold their videos - which ran uncensored in the
background - a parade of mostly young men caught every curve with
video cams, digital cameras and photographic cell phones.

Keiko, a petite redhead from Florida, could have been a store clerk,
a nurse or a secretary. Instead, she and her fiancé flew to Los Angeles
to become adult-film stars.

``It was kind of an accident,'' said Keiko, 20, of Sherman Oaks. ``I
wanted to be famous. The easiest way to get it is to walk into a
modeling office and say, I want to do porn.''

Keiko, like other performers, said she accepts the risk of working in
the sex industry.

``I figure I have a much higher chance of dying on the 405 Freeway,''
said her fiance, Rob, who earns from $100 and $700 per shoot.
The self-regulated testing system ``has proved itself well.''

MADNESS PICTURES PLEASED WITH ADULTCON 6 TURN OUT
Madness Pictures Pleased With Strong Showing at Adultcon

VAN NUYS, Calif. - Rising adult star Haley met hundreds of her fans at the Madness Pictures booth on Sunday, May 16 at Adultcon 6. Fans of the 22-year-old lined up, and at times mobbed, the Madness Pictures booth as Haley posed for pictures, signed DVDs and gave free shirts to her admirers. Haley, who is featured in Madness Pictures' Ass Driven and Legal Tender, also pulled the name of an Adultcon attendee who will spend the day on the set of one of Madness Pictures' productions. Haley said she was overwhelmed with her fan turnout and added, "I want to thank Madness Pictures and Adultcon for this opportunity.
It was great and I love to see my fans."

Newcomer Veronica Lynn, who Haley is representing as an agent, also appeared at the Madness Pictures booth. Like Haley, Lynn was pleasantly surprised at the response she was given at Adultcon. "We're very pleased with the turnout we had," said company owner Andre Madness. "It exceeded our expectations. We're happy that our fans could meet Haley, Veronica and the rest of the Madness gang and that we could give back to them."

Fun and Games Abound at Adultcon 4

By: Ron Williams

There was a lot of action for fans of Adult Entertainment at the Hyatt Regency in Downtown Los Angeles on June 1, 2003. The Hyatt was the sight of Adultcon 4 and the fun and games seemed endless. On hand were a lot of high profile adult performers like Belladonna and Mimi Miyagi, who stopped by the Glamor Girl booth to chat about her up-coming big budget Vivid Video release.
The girls got crazier as the day progressed, flashing the delighted fans and simulating sex on the convention floor. Adultcon seems to be the place for adult industry personalities to relax and get a little loose with the fans. A lot more of the girls were charging for their photos this time around, we noticed, opposed to the passed couple of Adultcons, where the girls seemed happy to pose for anyone, anytime free of charge. Glamor Girl distributed several hundred additional copies during the 8 hours of Adultcon 4. Adultcon is always a fun time for both the performers and the fans. We're already looking forward to Adultcon 5 in November, 2003.

June, 2003

I arrived at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in beautiful downtown LA at approximately 12:45 and after a few hiccups trying to figure out where to park I just took the easy route and used the valet.                      Good thing to since it was literally right next to the entrance to Adultcon 4.             Once I checked in I was informed that they were running a little late and wouldn't be opening just yet but I could go down and hang out waiting for the show to open. The show was supposed to open at 1pm but for some reason I didn't see the first batch of fans let into the hall until about 1:30 pm.  But since a lot of the booths were still unmanned or in the process of being set up that was probably for the best.

Adultcon can put on one heck of a show. They definitely keep improving things from show to show.

Adultcon 4 was bigger and better than the previous one I was at. I only stayed a little over 4 hours but still managed to shoot almost 200 pictures and meet some of the best talent in the business. From veterans like Chloe, Shayla LaVeaux, Randy Spears, Inari Vachs and Stephanie Swift. To some of the "new" blood in the industry like Kaylynn, Belladonna, Avy Scott, Holly Hollywood, Alana Evans, Brittney Skye and Taylor Rain. There was still the small matter of having to pay for some thing's but from the look on the fans faces after a trip to Kaylynn's couch or Alana and Holly's bed they weren't exactly complaining about it.

If there was a complaint to be had at this Adultcon it would be a minor one. The venue while a dramatic improvement over the previous location in Compton was perhaps a little too "nice" in that the hotel and show organizers kept flashing to a minimum. Still all in all it was a fun show and I am definitely looking forward to the next one in November.

For more information about this and future Adultcon's check out their web site at www.adultcon.com

Felecia was the first woman I recognized when I started walking around the show. She was there to promote her web site. For those of you who have never had the pleasure of meeting this sweet lovely young woman I highly suggest you jump at the chance. She had tons of goodies to choose from and was always ready with a smile. To make things even more enjoyable she brought along a friend of hers named Lexi Lamour who was promoting her own web site. I had never met Lexi before but she is a beautiful blonde who is really nice. I hope to see her again soon.

Belladonna and Avy Scott were on hand to promote Sineplex Pictures, Reina Leone's web site and of course Mofo Wear. Now as usually the case when these two women get together mayhem ensues. Not of the bad variety mind you but let us just say they tend to draw something of a crowd. For those of you who haven't seen Bella's hair recently it is something of a shock but like most things it works for this little sexual dynamo. Avy Scott was also there promoting her upcoming appearances in Seymore Butts movies.  One of which will include this lovely ladies very first anal scene.

With the exception of Charlie (www.XXXCharlie.com) and Roxy Heart (www.RoxyHeart.com) I had never met any of these women before but I was glad for the opportunity to do so. Mychele and Michelle are both very beautiful and I look forward to meeting them again. Unfortunately none of my pictures of Roxy from the show came out to my liking so I had to dig one up from the January AEE just to remind you all what she looks like. I will try to do better next time.

Metro Video was out in force at the show with an all star  line-up of talent. Including the lovely Kelly Erikson, Ann Marie and Gauge. Though it was too bad I had to leave before Ron Jeremy showed up. You haven't lived until you have experienced him in person.             You can find these lovely ladies in the following Metro Productions: Kelly Erikson: "Virtual Dreams", "Finally Legal 7" and "More Than a Handful #11". Ann Marie: "Finally Legal 7" as well as "Fantasy Ltd.".Gauge: "Finally Legal 8" and "Dream Love"

Kelly Erikson's latest movie for Metro "Blue Screen" will be released on July 7th and Ann Marie's latest  Babe's Illustrated #13 will be released on August 19th.

Kaylynn was of course on hand as she almost always is for any event that allows her to get closer to her fans. It is always amazing to see this woman work a crowd. You almost have to kick your way through to get to the front of her booth and once you are there watch out. The biggest sell for her (as usual) were Polaroid's with you on her couch. Now since no nudity was allowed at this venue you are probably thinking, so what. Well let me tell you even fully clothed Kaylynn can give you an experience that will leave you smiling for hours. She had got to be one of the most energetic women in adult today and trust me when I say you will never be disappointed with her.
I highly encourage you to check out her web site at www.kaylynn.com.    This is how a web site should be done.

Now most of you are going August isn't new but she is when she is now sporting a lovely blonde hair do and was more than happy to show us some of her very nice dance moves. You can August at www.insideaugust.com

Stephanie Swift (one of my all time favorites) was on hand to promote her web site www.stephanieswift.com as well as her movies for Wicked Pictures. This lovely lady went all out this time as far as stuff for sale and a booth goes. If you ever get the chance to meet on of the hardest working women in the industry then I suggest you go for it.

Chloe (www.chloexxx.com) and Shayla LaVeaux (www.shayla.com) were on hand to promote themselves as well as their movies with VCA Pictures.

Randy Spears was also on hand and I felt a little sorry for him since he didn't seem to be getting as much attention as the ladies with him.

Now I am going to get in trouble for this one but I don't know if Alana Evans and Holly Hollywood were there with Big Q Video or just for Alana's website (www.alanaevans.com). However, these two lovely ladies were definitely one of the highlights of the show since you could climb onto a bed and get your picture taken with them. I don't think I have ever met Alana before since I had to ask someone who she was but I will definitely remember her from now on. Holly Hollywood, on the other hand, liked to take a few moments of quite reflection in all the chaos. I have only met the lovely Miss Brittney Skye on a few occasions but every time I do I look forward to the next time.            She is definitely a fun loving woman who is out for a good time. You can find her web site www.brittneyskye.com & in such movies as Cream Filling (DVSX) Spin the Bottle (Elegant Angel) & New Girls in Town 4 (Wicked Pictures).

Teanna Kai is something of a mystery to me. I have met her repeatedly yet know next to nothing about her. That she is one of the most beautiful women working in the industry today goes without saying but I think I need to spend a little more time finding out about this one. You can see her on her site at www.teannakailive.com

Well this page is getting extremely long winded and if you haven't figured out yet that Adultcon 5 will be worth your time I am not sure there is anything else I can say or do to convince you. Below you will find the last few pictures from the show. I am going to take the lazy way out and just give you a quick run down on the rest.

Mary Carey was there promoting her web site www.marycarey.com

Chantz Fortune was there to promote her appearance in a movie called "Glory Hole Girlz".

Tanya was promoting her site www.tanyadanielle.com.

Staci and Michelle Lay were there for www.weplay2gether.com as well as Michelle's web site www.michellelay.com.

Alexis Amore was there promoting Jill Kelly Productions.

Lelani Vecina was there for www.mostbeautifulgirls.com.

Mia Fox who is a very beautiful woman was there for her website (www.miafox.com)

Lainey X was there but I forgot to write down who for (oops) And last but certainly not least Jelena Jensen was there for Jaded Video. Now Jelena is not a porn star just a model but when you see her in person you won't care.

Well that pretty much sums up my trip to Adultcon 4. I would love to sit here and go on and on about the show but I do have other things to get done as well. If you have any questions or comments about this article you can reach me at Lee@leecarverphotography.com

This Sunday is one of the big industry events.
This in spite of the fact that AVN doesn't own it.
Sunday, June 1st, 2003 from 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. at the Hyatt Regency in Downtown L.A. is the return of Adultcon. For those that might have missed the previous Adultcon shows, Adultcon is a convention that is open to the public and features a large number of industry performers and companies.
Essentially, it is a chance for Joe Consumer and John Q. Fanboy to get to meet their favorite porn stars and see some of the latest and greatest product to be generated by the smut industry for the next year.
So how does it compare to some of the other adult industry conventions (AEE/CES, Erotica L.A., VSDA, etc.)?
Well, in this reporter's opinion, it is right up there. And no, this isn't some ass-smooching speech to get in good with the promoters and get press passes. I already have that covered and don't have to suck up right now.
This opinion is based upon the most recent Adultcon show that was held late last year.
Event coordinators had to find a new venue for their event when less than 48 hours earlier, the prior location cancelled under fear that their liquor license might be in jeopardy.
Acting fast, the Adultcon staff managed to secure ballrooms in a Compton card casino.
Maybe not the best or areas, but it served its purpose.
Maybe it was because of the fact that law enforcement has better things to look into in Compton, but that particular show was wilder than just about any other open-to-the-public porn event that I had been to in years.
There were all sorts of wild photo ops for fans, and much flesh was flashed.
Unfortunately, event planners of this weekend's Adultcon have to at least live up to heightened expectations from the last show, if not to top it.
Check back here next week for highlights.
Until next time....

Adultcon 4 was held this past Sunday June 1st at the Hyatt Regency hotel in downtown Los Angeles.

Once again, I made the 2 hour drive from Palm Springs to “ooh and ahh” at all the tasty porn stars and their sexy bodies (most of them). I arrived early, around 1pm & immediately asked for direction to the nearest bar (no time to waste, adult conventions are the perfect excuse for binge drinking) I dropped $9.75 (strip club prices) on a Miller Lite, for me and a Vodka Coke.

I spent the day at the show aimlessly wandering around snapping photos and shooting video of any hot piece of ass that caught my attention. One girl who definitely made an impression on me is Bianca, she’s a friend of Lainey Baron of http://www.LaineyX.com and if anyone reading this knows how to contact her, please let her know that I totally have the hots for her. Lainey looked great with her new blonde extensions, for a while there she had the young teen look going, but I think this suits her much better.

I ran across my dear friends Michelle Lay http://www.michellelay.com and Reno from Insanity Pictures.
They have been producing some great new videos. They have just started out with their first few productions using A list talent and by the looks of it they should do well.                                                                             Stacy http://www.weplay2gether.com was also at Michelle’s booth. She is a fucking smoking hot Puerto Rican or Cuban girl I can’t recall, but damn that girl is fine (can I get me some of that?)

Karina http://www.ClubKarinaXXX.com needs a new domain name, but aside from that she is the complete package. A sexy Finnish blonde formerly a contract girl with Sin City (that’s a guess from my beer buzz recollection), she has a beautiful smile and a magnetic personality. Definitely one to keep your eyes on, she’s got super-porn-stardom written all over her. There were others in attendance as well, forgive me if I missed you;

Belladonna (sporting her recent blonde buzz cut), Avy Scott (thick, but oh so hot), Alaura Eden (sucks that some of these girls REALLY need bodyguards, good luck girl), Mimi Miyagi (big tits), Brittany Skye (god she looks like Jenna Jameson’s long lost little sister), Felicia Fox (found her doggy and was visibly happy), the other Felicia, Kaylynn (what’s up with Kaylynn?), Alana Evans (brought a bed with her, seriously), Anne Marie (wore the sexiest bustier/corset thingy), Catalina (Max Hardcore had a sling on his arm/shoulder), Alexis Amore (we said hi, friendly, cordial, there’s nothing there anymore, I don’t think there ever was but what am I supposed to think when a girl tells me she’s getting attached to me?). And there were others, so many others, girls, girls everywhere.

Adultcon 4 was a good show, there were no Jenna’s or Jill Kelly’s but who fucking cares, the fans all seemed to have a good time, the atmosphere was mellow, it was crowded but not over crowded. I had to be up at 7am to shoot a mainstream thing. So you see, attending Adultcon is a big deal for me.
It’s a full, long day, so to say I had a good time means something to me.
Adultcon 4 was nice.

June 5, 2003
PornoNewsNetwork.com
Don Benn

Let me get right to the point. I hated Adultcon 4. The hotel (Hyatt Regency) was too nice, the event staff was too professional, the actual room was too clean, the parking was too convenient, the crowds were too well behaved, and the impressive amount of top-named adult talent too friendly and courteous to the fans.
And, speaking about the fans, the fans enjoyed themselves too much. I need conflict, confusion, and chaos to write about. Adultcon 4 had none (OK, damn little) and as such, I hated it.

By now (four days after the fact) those of you who read the daily adult e-rags have already read about what stars were in attendance (both as exhibitors and as exhibitionists).
You’ve already read what performers loved it & which ones hated it.

Renaud West, for those of you who perhaps don’t know, is the brains and brawn behind Adultcon.
He’s the promoter, producer, procurer, provocateur, and proud papa of this semi-annual carnal carnival.
He’s (apparently) is loved by all who know him.

Oh yeah, he’s also one of the hardest working and successful (at what he does) guys whom I have ever met…and thanks to his Herculean (if not often heroic) efforts, scores of adult performers and thousands of their admirers have a safe and secure venue to share time and spend money.

West, while worthy of more than just a few smacks in the head for attitude is equally worthy of praise for his accomplishment (s).  Few people (myself included) know what it takes to organize an event of this magnitude.  Fewer still (myself excluded) know what it is like to run an event of this magnitude SUCCESSFULLY.  West fits into both categories.

Want some Adultcon gossip (notice the total lack of segue?) – Mary Carey is the size of a friggin blimp (and I would still crawl over broken glass for a shot at her).

Shayla LaVeaux looks better than ever, Kelly Erickson is this close to superstardom, and Felecia and Chloe have more class and style and poise than 99% of any broad in this business.
OK, enough gossip, now back to Adultcon.

All bullshit aside, Adultcon, via Renaud West, provides a true public service.  Here, as at other fan-driven conventions, one finds more than the usual share of, uh, shall I say “natures oddities”. At Adultcon, for a brief couple of hours, these guys get to experience the same fantasies as the rest of us…the attention and the interaction with sexy women.  Porn ain’t social work…. but when I see the extra time and attention that the performers at Adultcon give to those who need it the most and (usually) receive it the least, it makes me feel good.

 Adultcon 4 is not a trouble-free event.
The list of complaints made by the attendees continues to be the same, "why didn’t I know about this event before?" Hell, I have yet to see a fan go away unsatisfied…and in the end, that’s all that really counts.

June 2, 2003 Source: ROGREVIEWS.com On Sunday June 1, the Hyatt Regency Hotel hosted Adultcon 4. Filling two ballrooms with dozens of booths, Adultcon attracted a few thousand attendees who lined up long before the doors opened. Platinum X Pictures had a booth that was manned by Brandon Iron, Michael Stefano and company president Jewel De'Nyle. Mari Possa, Flower, Belladonna, Avy Scott and Reina Leone gave fans a thrill by posing for pictures, singing photos and selling DVDs. Not every booth was filled with adult film stars. There were plenty of websites represented as well as specialty clothing and bondage gear. I talked to Katie Morgan about her weekly show. Judging from the throngs of people who were still jockeying for position by the time I left, I would say that Adultcon 4 was a success on every level.back to top

Adultcon 3 Draws Crowd Despite Location Change

COMPTON, Calif. Adultcon 3, the eight-hour whirl of porn stars, dancers, hookers and adult entertainers of all stripes, drew an estimated 1,600 people on Sunday afternoon & evening, Nov. 17, despite a    last-minute move from its original location in the Hollywood Park Casino in Inglewood.  "I want to thank the exhibitors for their support, for coming out, even though there was a last-minute change," said Renaud West, vice-president of Adult Industry Entertainment, the producer of Adultcon 3.
"We think the fans love the fact that Adultcon is in a casino and the word of mouth will be out about how great this one was, so we should see more attendees at Adultcon 4 in April 2003."

The convention, which is scheduled to occur every six months in the Los Angeles area, was told over the weekend by Hollywood Park officials that they couldn't open in their contracted-for venue because, rumor had it, the owner of the Hollywood Park grounds would not allow any adult events to take place there.
This required a last-minute relocation to the Crystal Park Casino in Compton, about a half-hour from Hollywood Park, a trek that most fans seemed inclined to make.

The convention settled in three ballrooms of the Crystal Park though only 1 of those was constantly packed with attendees. Music blared, and porn stars, dancers and others swayed to the music, while fans ogled and jockeyed for position with their cameras and camcorders.

Some of the more recognizable faces at the roughly 100 booths and in the crowd included Stephanie Swift, Keri Windsor, Hannah Harper, Jolean, Taylor Wane, Violet Blue, Catalina, Felix Vicious, Sharon Wild, Nicole Moore, Ann Marie, Dyna-Mite, Phyllisha Anne, Kaylynn, Rubee Tuesday, Skye, Chris Charming, Sunset Thomas, Teri Weigel, Bobbi Barron & Air Force Amy-those last four holding down the fort at the massive Bunny Ranch Brothel booth. For some reason, much of the crowd gravitated to the hookers' hutch, where brochures and t-shirts were given out, autographs signed and general goodwill shared. And of course, Bunny Ranch owner Dennis Hof was filled with news. "We were in New York City," Hof related, "and we actually went up there to talk to HBO about our show coming up, Cathouse. Sunset is going to do her on-the-road show, like at Adultcon, as a representative of the magazine."                                       And speaking of classic porn stars, the most legendary one to appear at the convention was Cara Lott, who says she's spending her time performing "one-on-one" these days.
"I have my website caralott.com," Lott noted. "It's free to anybody that wants to log on".  Not in her 40's was Violet Blue, who beamed that her video, Fear Of Speed, had just been released, starring herself, Dale DaBone and some other XXX personalities. She was also quick to squelch rumors of her retirement from XXX. "I just got done doing a big Vivid film. How could I be retired?" she asked.

Welcome to Adultcon 3
This yearly event is quickly becoming the adult/porno showcase in Los Angeles. This year the venue was moved at the last minute to a casino in Compton and I it seems to have tremendously helped out the proceedings. It was the loosest show I've ever seen in the Los Angeles area and porno fans were treated to an unusually large amount of talent and skin.

The first girl I saw when I got there was the always adorable Belladonna. She's not only one of the hottest girls in porn today, she's also one of the sweetest. I don't think I've ever taken a bad shot of her. I wish she had stayed around till later in the day. Things got wild then and I'm sure she would have given me some incredible skin shots.

Next up is Kendra Jade. She was looking great and signing autographs.

To the right is Dee who always looks dynamite. I recently caught her on the set producing a movie that will be showcased in an upcoming column.

Hannah Harper was the next starlet that caught my eye. I'd never photographed her before so I jumped at the chance. Very beautiful and classy.

The farther back into the main room you got, the wilder the girls got. I think the first girl that flashed some skin was the always accommodating Sunset Thomas. She is one of my favorites. Although I've never caught her on the set, Sunset has flashed so much pussy that I almost feel I have.

Teri Weigel. What is there to say. I think Teri wins the fan favorite award. Her table was jammed 5 deep with tons of fans shooting her playing with herself. I had to wait a half an hour just to get close enough to shoot. I absolutely love shooting Teri and going back to her brunette hair brings back memories of her original Playboy cover. It was the first pinup photo I ever saw on the net, back in the late '80s in 4096 colors on an Amiga 1000. Thanks Teri

Well, well, well, here we are with part two of Adultcon 3. Let's get right to it. The main room of the event was very crowded and as I walked around looking for photo ops, I noticed a bunch of flashes going off. You know what that means. I elbowed my way to the front and got some great shots of Amy Tyler and Natasha Dolling getting intimate for the crowd. Maybe it wasn't for the crowd, I'm not quite sure! Either way, they were smoking hot.                                                 I love those pierced nips on Natasha.
Next up, I headed over to Avy Scott. I had just shot her on the set the day before, so she was very chummy and accommodating. Wait till you see the "On the set" shots of her. She was great, especially when she dropped her jeans. Ciera Sage flashed me her great rack. Those nips look fantastic. This was the first time I'd seen her, but I hope to catch her again.

When I spotted Felix Vicious, I was pumped. I've seen her a couple times on video and would really like to catch her on the set. She's got a great body, but most of all, a gorgeous face. Oh yeah, and sweet puffies. Renee Pornero was walking around wearing a pink see-through top. I had to catch those piercings and she was kind enough to give me a smile.

The place got more and more crowded and after awhile, I figured it was time to go. You never want to be the last perv at the party, but on my way out, I spotted Violet Blue coming in.         Of course I waited for her to set up and grabbed some great shots of her spanking Julie Night. They put on a great show for the fans.

I'd like to thank all the talent who posed for my Stereo Realist camera and Adultcon for putting on such a great show.

Glamor Girl Magazine - December 2002

“Adult entertainment fans turned out in droves for Adultcon 3 despite a potentially catastrophic last minute venue change from the Hollywood Park Casino to the Crystal Park Casino, about 20 minutes away. This detail didn’t seem to faze the fans who packed the hall shoulder to shoulder most of the day to get a quick photo with one of their favorite adult stars or to get an autograph from performers like Taylor Wane, Teanna Kai, Angel Cassidy, and many, many more. Adultcon is the stand-alone event where adult entertainment fans can truly mingle one-on-one with their favorite fantasy girls. We're already looking forward to Adultcon 4.

“ADULTCON OPENS TO PACKED HALL ”

LOS ANGELES -“Adultcon 2, the one-day porn consumer expo opened to a packed hall at the Los Angeles International Airport on Sunday, April 28.

Fans in attendance numbered from hundreds to over a thousand (depending on which exhibitor AVN asked). “This is wild,” said Ken, who asked not to have his last name given. “Porn chicks and there’s a bar in back. This is great.”

Performers, production companies and centerfold’s made up the bulk of the exhibitors at the event. “Turn-out’s good-lots of perverts,” laughed performer AnnMarie.

Said AVN’s reigning Best New Starlet, Violet Blue: “I’m seeing a lot of people that I know, and it’s really nice. It’s like a big family get-together.”

David Brett, Passion Pictures’ owner and director, said, “I think it’s busier than it was last year, because the show started later…I’m just here to push the name Passion Pictures.”

Playboy Playmates, including Deanna Brooks (Miss May 1998), Julie Cialini (Playmate of the Year for 1995), Cathy St. George (Miss August 1992), Kim Stanfield (Miss July 2001), Jennifer Wolcott  (Miss August 2001) and Victoria Fuller (Miss January 1996), were also in attendance and were in high demand for autographs from fans.”

Extreme at Adultcon - the Subject is Forced Entry

Veronica Caine, right, and Britni give the Adultcon crowd something to take home with them.

Wrestler by night, porn star by day, Veronica Caine had a pretty busy weekend. On Saturday night, Caine and her cohorts, The Enterprise, gave the what-for to Rob Black's army in a steel cage match at the Grand Olympic auditorium. Sunday afternoon, with traces of blood still in her hair, Caine gave her fans something they didn't see the night before when, during her catfight with Lizzy Borden, clothes threatened to fly but didn't. That's because at the Radisson hotel during the Adultcon convention, Caine was being her Forced Entry self.

According to Caine the Extreme title which depicts her being raped and beaten up by Brian Surewood & the former Luciano was the number one topic among fans who sought her autograph.

I didn't bring enough copies of Forced Entry. I threw a couple of copies in thinking there's really nothing to look at because there's no box cover with pictures. But when I put it on the VCR and let people see it, we were moving copies before we even got to the second scene. It's the big seller. It's already been established but it just keeps being re-established with Forced Entry and Cocktails 2. They just went out the door. Not a problem. Gone. But that girl- Lizzy Borden- her sick mind is keeping us in business.

We were next to the Adult Stars booth which was wild all day long. Tons of people were always gathered around it. Keri Windsor was there and her I love. One point during the day she sucked on my toes for a couple of seconds. At times the path to our monitor was blocked by people trying to take all these pictures.

THE SECOND ADULTCON TOOK PLACE ON APRIL 28TH AT THE LAX RADISSON HOTEL AT LAX. ACCOMPANIED BY MY FRIEND, GORDON MUI, I WENT TO MEET SOME NEW FRIENDS AND SAY HI TO SOME OLD ONES.

Give Adultcon one more year to work out the kinks and grow and it could be better than the Vegas conventions. We’re already looking forward to the next Adultcon!”

“We exchanged hugs with several of the girls that have posed for the Oyster in the past; women like Major Gunns and Veronica Caine from XPW, Tina Toy, Syren, and Brandy Lyons.

Of course no event like this could go on without a few big names like Taylor Wayne, Kiki D’aire, Allyson Chains, Hannah Harper, Taylor St. Claire, Sierra, April, Kerri Windsor, Alana Evans, Deja Milan, Lena Hart, Annabel Chong, Ginger Lynn, Monica Mayhem, Christi Lake and flashing her new hardware, Alexis Amore.

Several strip clubs were there including Déjà vu, The Valleyball, The Blue Zebra.
And no one could take there eyes off the Spearmint Rhino dancers.”

From Rich Hansen, GLAMOR GIRL MAGAZINE

“Glamor Girl Magazine co-sponsored Adultcon II at the newly remodeled LAX Radisson Hotel on April 28th.
The convention featured over 40 adult stars and over 20 Adult businesses.  The convention floor was packed, shoulder to shoulder all day  and the fans really had a great time mingling with their favorite adult stars.  Many gentlemen's clubs had a presence at the show, but the Spearmint Rhino definitely had the most impressive (and most popular) display,  with girls dancing on a "Club" style stage set up just for Adultcon.  Glamor Girl magazine made numerous contacts, some have taken ads which will be seen in the June edition. Congratulations to Renaud West and crew.
See you there again in November for the 2002 follow-up!”

“This is Simon Perez with Las Vegas Xcitement Magazine, one of the official host’s of Adultcon.

Let me say that overall, this event was much larger and successful than I expected.

By the number of magazines handed out, we are estimating between 1500 and 2000 people stopped by our booth.  It’s one hell of a lot of work to get an event like to this to come off. Renaud West made it happen.”

“The convention hall at the LAX Radisson hotel was not nearly vast enough to hold the large crowd in attendance at this year’s Adultcon. Fans began lining up an hour ahead of the scheduled adult industry show. The wait certainly seemed worth it, as many of the top adult video and industry stars were in attendance. “The Radisson Hotel LAX's second floor was filled with beautiful people and long lines of admirers waiting to get in to see them. This was Renaud West's second venture into producing a large convention for the Adult Industry, and it was a huge success. He brought to the Adult world his vast experience in producing events for the mainstream world, frequently associated with the various Awards Shows. Renaud's dream was to bring in all participants in the adult industry, not just well-known porn stars. He wanted to combine the best of the other shows that cater to the various factions of the industry and provide them a place where they could make money at the show by selling photos and other products. He brought together porn stars (legends from the past as well as up-'n'-coming stars), centerfold magazine models, amateur web models and cam girls, dancers from gentlemen's clubs and vendors of adult industry-related products. He kept the admission fee low to the attendees to encourage them to spend their money in the booths. And spend they did! The girls said they couldn't keep enough videos and photos on their tables and will bring more merchandise next time. And, many posed for pictures with fans for a fee, which also brought in some money.
I'm sure their hands were sore from all the autographs they signed. Everyone was there to have a good time and ogle all the gorgeous women, and they were thrilled at the chance to talk to the women they watch on video or on their computer monitors. I was there to sell a few items, including the Mr. Potato Head Vibrating Massager demonstrated by Annabel Chong and Brenda Kelly. I had invited Annabel to share my booth space, and she had a wonderful time talking with fans and posing taking pictures.”

“For those of you who missed ADULTCON when it ripped through LA a few weeks ago, fret not.
We have all the pics fit to print .... well, sort of.

Strippers, Vendors & Porn stars made up most of the attendance this year. One thing is for sure, these events are unlike anything you will ever experience. So next time be ready - leave the wife at home, and bring your damn video camera.

For now, just sit back and enjoy 'cause we got you covered!”

ADULTCON 1 IN THE NEWS

From Wayne Hentai of AVN Insider, October 3, 2001: (http://www.avn.com/insider/main0007.html)
LOS ANGELES “Fans of the adult industry congregated at the Westin Hotel LAX's main ballroom to meet and greet stars of adult entertainment September 20th at the Erotic Exotic Expo. The event, produced by Adult Industry Entertainment and sponsored by Jenna Jameson's clubjenna.com, played host to names such as Teri Weigel, Taylor Wayne, Diana and Alexander DeVoe, Aurora Snow, Violet Blue, Jack Napier and Rodney Moore.
Fans stood in line for autographs and pictures with the stars.”

“Brooke Hunter, who manned the booth for The Classic Lady of Oz says, The event's been phenomenal. She added the expo's interaction with fans helped to get the word out about the club. Caroline Pierce, signing at Rodney Moore's booth, says she was surprised at the new fans she's seeing. There's a lot of people here checking it out; it's not your usual expo-goers. Not a lot of familiar faces. Director Jim Powers was in attendance as well with a booth to promote his web site, mrfilth.com says the crowd were his type of fans. It's a cool show; it's a very strange crowd, it's not the usual too-hip crowd. It's a good turn out. J.T. Smith, marketing manager for Adult DVD Empire, says in his booth.
It's definitely a good show.”

“Teri Weigel, hostess for the upcoming AVN Awards Show in January, said the event was 'a lot of fun,' She added, 'It's exciting to tell them that I'm hosting the AVN Awards this year, and that's the most exciting thing in my life, now.
I can't wait'.”

Jenna Jameson had an especially long line waiting for her to autograph her photos. Among the many others I remember (don't forget I'm 61 and my memory is slowing down a lot faster than my sex drive is) were Teri Weigel, Nicole Moore & Steve Banan, Brooke Hunter and Don Hollywood, Alexandra Quinn, TJ Hart, Rodney Moore, Alex Hidell, Nikki Steele and Naked Nicole (check this lovely amateur at naked nicole.com) Sharon Mitchell, Brittany Powers, KSEXradio Wankus and Samantha Sterlyng and many others.”

From Mr. Todd

“Welcome to the 10th installment of “Mr. Todd's Wild Ride.”

This week we take a look at Adultcon held at the Westin Hotel in Los Angeles at LAX. This show was put on by Renaud West and was similar to the annual Erotica LA convention.

Which means fans get to mingle, get autographs, and get pictures taken of their favorite porn stars and Playboy playmates. Being a porn fan and shooter, I stuck to the porn side of the event for my picture taking.

We'll start with the always lovely Allysin Chaynes. I've shot her on the set and she always looks hot. She has a little innocent quality that makes her scenes all the dirtier.

Next is Brooke Hunter. Yummy. I haven't caught her on the set yet, but I hope to.

Jenna Jameson. I don't have to say much about her. Dynamite and flashing panties too.

Next up is Nikki Dial. I've been wanting to shoot her forever. I went to this event with the express purpose of taking this shot. Thanks Nikki.

I've shot Nina Whett on the set. I saw a guy lose it almost immediately when she gave him a blow job. She is hot and has always been a scorcher when I've seen her. Her mesh top looks particularly good in 3D.

And then there's the ravishing Taylor Wane. She defines buxom blonde.

One of my favorite shots from the event is this one of T.J. Hart. I've shot her several times, but I think this shot best captures the way I see her. What a beautiful woman.

These events have very little nudity, but if you know who flashes and how, you can get some pretty good stuff. Tip of the day: Teri Weigel doesn't wear panties. While signing autographs, I happened to catch a little of her lovely tail. Enjoy.

I'd like to thank Renaud West for inviting me to shoot stills at the event and all the talent who gave me their time and allowed me to shoot them.”

From Rick C. Limpert independent source for Ainews.com, October 2, 2001:
LA's EROTIC EXOTIC EXPO PROVIDES PLENTY OF TRAFFIC FOR EXHIBITORS

“Sunday's Erotic Exotic Expo provided vendors with plenty of foot traffic and networking opportunities. A crowd of over 2000 attendees was blessed with a variety of exhibitors, ranging from XXX and adult magazine stars to web sites and video/DVD sales companies. Food and beverage sales were excellent and no major disturbances marred the event. The Spring Break Girls both was popular with a good military turnout, with a group coming from far away as the 29 Palms Base outside Palm Springs. Other expos are planned for the coming years.”

From Rachel Worth, www.worth-a-million.com, October 4, 2001

“All the hard work and planning of Renaud West and others finally came together when the grand ballroom at the Westin Hotel was transformed into two huge rooms of exhibit space. Although some of the products exhibited included items for sale, the attendees came to see the dozens of gorgeous women. There were many top adult stars as well as web girls, centerfolds and models who provided lots of beauty and friendly chat. Jenna Jameson patiently greeted all the admirers who stood in line to chat with her, get autographs or have a Polaroid taken with her. She looked beautiful and stayed all day. The girls could sell their products, such as videos and photos. They were there to promote their web sites and current projects. Plans are underway to repeat the event, probably in April 2002. At the next show, fans will be allowed to bring cameras, as opposed to the no-camera policy this year. Although there was a sizeable turnout, being allowed to photograph the stars will be a bigger draw. Renaud said that next time, all the booths will be in one room, instead of two like this year. He was pleased with the success of the event, with this being the first time.”

ARTICLES ABOUT MAINSTREAM COMPANIES IN PORN

The Surreal Life, an unscripted show airing on The WB, one of the first network broadcasters to hire a porn star as a major player in a prime-time show. Also starring in the series, a fly-on-the-wall look at six has-been celebs and pop cult figures bunking in a house together, are televangelist Tammy Faye Messner, former Baywatch babe Traci Bingham, Latin hunk Erik Estrada, Rob Van Winkle (a k a Vanilla Ice, the former white rapper), and Real World alum Trishelle Canatella. For Jeremy, his inclusion in the series is a stroke of casting brilliance and a chance for him to be seen by the broadest possible audience outside his adult entertainment roots and beyond the relative success he's had in mainstream movies and music videos. "No doubt there's a shock value to it," he said. "What's the biggest contrast you can get to a Bible-carrying evangelist? A porn star." The Jan. 11 premier featuring Jeremy drew 5.3 million viewers, making it the highest-rated show ever in that time period in The WB's 10-year history.

Comcast Porn Friendly Opponents Say hauling in the porn bucks --Associated Press

Porn Valley- Mickey Mouse and "Kill Bill" may have seemed strange corporate bedfellows to some, but now Disney's often-vocal critics must fathom the prospect of the Magic Kingdom being ruled by one of the nation's top distributors of pornography. Cable giant Comcast owes a sizable chunk of its profits to selling pornographic movies to cable subscribers. As the nation's largest cable provider, Comcast offers a variety of adult channels and pay-per-view selections. Selling adult entertainment is far from unique to Comcast; the other major cable providers are in the business as well. But Disney — despite having grown into a diversified company that owns ABC-TV, ESPN and various magazines, TV and radio stations — remains largely identified as the family-friendly home of Mickey and Minnie, Donald and Goofy and "The Lion King." So when subsidiary Miramax released such controversial films as the violent "Kill Bill, Vol. 1" and the profane "Bad Santa," conservative and religious organizations launched angry public campaigns against Disney. A Comcast takeover could create even more uncomfortable associations for Disney — or it could simply serve as a wakeup call that the days of corporations standing for more than the bottom line have passed. "A lot of us have concerns about some of the things that Disney does, but they still produce a lot of positive family-values movies," said Rick Schatz, president of the Cincinnati-based National Coalition for the Protection of Children & Families. "We don't believe Comcast is family-friendly," he said. "The management of Comcast has shown no hesitation to distribute hard-core and soft-core pornography. So what does that say about the product and environment of what Disney's going to produce in the years ahead?" Cable companies generally don't report the percentage of profits reaped from adult entertainment and Comcast did not respond to a request to discuss this end of its business. "60 Minutes" reported late last year that the company earned $50 million from adult programming in 2002. Bob Waliszewski, entertainment review manager for Colorado Springs-based Focus on the Family, was hopeful that Comcast might exert a positive influence on Disney. "We've been saying for years Disney needs to be more responsible," he said, complaining about the Miramax films and Walt Disney World's Gay Day. "And if Comcast buys them out and that happens, we'd be happy. If Comcast bought them out and it was business as usual, that certainly wouldn't be anything we'd be crazy about." Neal Gabler, author of the early-Hollywood history book "An Empire of  Their Own" plus an upcoming biography of Walt Disney, said he doubted a Comcast takeover would have much impact on its new subsidiary's image. "The brand identity of the larger organization is almost insignificant now," Gabler said. "If Disney were bought by Comcast, it's not like Comcast would have any identity. Disney would retain its identity." As for the possibility that Disney's values could be tarnished by association, he added, "This is a nostalgic notion. This is not a notion that has any relevance to modern business. "Once upon a time in the entertainment business, companies had an identity. Disney had the identity of Walt Disney, MGM had the identity of Louis B. Mayer, but those days are long gone."

From ABC.com January 23, 2003 The Hoteliers

Adult movies are now available in 1.5 million American hotel rooms, 40 percent of the total.
Almost all of the upscale chains that cater to business travelers provide them, including Marriott International. Although only one in 10 guests pays for a movie, most of those who do opt for adult fare, which is billed at a premium rate of $10 a title. Most of the revenue goes to the in-room movie companies that provide the content and the TV sets, but the hotels make 10 percent to 15 percent. Adult movies account for around 80 percent of hotels' in-room entertainment profits a small proportion of overall profits, but significant enough that the chains want to keep making them available. Marriott said in a statement that it saw the matter as a privacy issue and did not stand in the way of customers who want to view adult movies. The Blue-Chip Corporations Porn's profits have proven irresistible to some of America's biggest corporations. "The revenues are large enough that many of these, if not most of these companies, are willing to put up with a certain level of criticism in order to maintain the cash flow," said Fred Lane, author of Obscene Profits: The Entrepreneurs of Pornography in the Cyber Age. Long-distance telephone service giants AT&T and MCI have been leaders in the 1-900 market, which is dominated by phone-sex services and psychics. Phone sex continues to generate almost $1 billion a year. AT&T is making money from pornography on its cable services, which carry several adult pay-per-view channels, including Playboy's Hot Network. AT&T's merger with Comcast Cable reaches 22 million subscribers in the United States, making the merged company the largest distributor of pornography in the country. A former AT&T cable executive, Jon Radloff, said the adult pay-per-view market was "very profitable" for AT&T, but not something the company wanted to draw attention to. "
We wanted to provide it, but it wasn't something that we touted in our advertising campaigns," said Radloff. "
We knew that if you offered it, the folks that were interested in that sort of entertainment would find it." Another blue-chip company that profits from porn is General Motors, whose 225-channel DirecTV satellite service includes the Hot Channel, one of the channels Playboy bought from Vivid, and other adult channels. The adult offerings reportedly generate $150 million in revenue for DirecTV. "It certainly is a powerful contributor to profits for DirecTV," said analyst McAlpine.

AT&T Spins Involvement In Adult Entertainment By: Scott Ross 4-14-2003

BEDMINSTER, NJ and CINCINNATI, OH.- AT&T has publicly stated that they are no longer involved in the distribution of pornography - but publicly available research indicates that this was nothing more than a PR spin. In a letter dated March 18, Connie Weaver, Executive Vice President of Public Relations and Brand Management for AT&T, told the Rev. Dr. Jerry Kirk, the Co-Chairman of the Religious Alliance Against Pornography, that with the "sale" of AT&T's cable division to Comcast "there will no longer be any connection between the two companies." Not quite true. In November 2002, AT&T announced the completion of their spin-off of AT&T Broadband and it’s simultaneous merger with Comcast Corporation, now officially known as Comcast Holding Corporation, creating the world’s largest broadband and cable service provider. The key word is "merger." While Comcast Corporations co-founder Ralph Roberts and his family retained high level positions in the company and are said to control 1/3 of the class B voting stock, which is not publicly traded - the vast majority of the new companies voting stock is controlled by AT&T. It's true that AT&T sold their cable properties to a company now known as Comcast Holding Corporation, which appears to be the umbrella company that includes Comcast Cable- but its also true that AT&T has a 53% economic stake in the company and owns 66% of the voting stock in that company and appointed five members of Comcast's board . It started with the Philadelphia based Comcast Corporation buying a Baltimore, Md. cable system with 115,000 subscribers for approximately $518 million in cash to AT&T in July 2001. Six days after the announcement regarding the purchase - Comcast Corporation announced a proposed merger between themselves and AT&T. At that time Comcast Cable was the third largest cable company in the United States serving more than 8.4 million cable subscribers. Less than the half-a-year later, both companies issued a joint press release announcing their intentions to merge AT&T Broadband and Comcast to create a company with 22 million subscribers. Under the terms of the agreement, AT&T planned to spin off AT&T Broadband, their cable holdings, and simultaneously merge it with Comcast Corporation to form a new company called AT&T Comcast Corporation. After much haggling, it was decided that AT&T shareholders were entitled to receive 0.3235 shares of the new Comcast Corporation Class A common stock in respect of each share of AT&T common stock they owned at the close of business November 15, 2002 - the official date for the spin-off of AT&T Broadband and Comcast Corporation. Yet in her letter to Kirk, Baker attests that "current shareholders of AT&T may or may not own shares of Comcast." It is not known how many stockholders took advantage of that offer, but as the shareholders were also entitled to keep all of their existing AT&T stock, turning down the offer of stock in the new company would have been tantamount to turning down cash. On November 18th, 2002 - the day the merger took place, the new company is no longer referred to as AT&T Comcast Corporation - just Comcast Corporation. There was no explanation for the name change. "Today marks the birth of a leading national broadband communications media and entertainment company. The people of Comcast and AT&T Broadband should be proud of what they have created, and excited for the opportunities that the future is sure to bring," C. Michael Armstrong, Chairman of Comcast, said in a jointly released statement to the press announcing the deal on November 18, 2002. Armstrong was the AT&T CEO who engineered the spin off and merger of AT&T Broadband with Comcast Corporation. His position as Chairman of Comcast was part of the deal. Out of the twelve members of Comcast's Board of Directors, five were named by Comcast from its board. AT&T also named five, including Armstrong. In addition, the two companies jointly appointed two board members. In the next company press release, just eight days later - Comcast changed their name to Comcast Holdings - again, without explanation. So it would appear that pressure from the right wing religious right is not quite as powerful as they would like to think, although it's clear that AT&T doesn't want them to be aware of that.

Seymore Butts) stars in “Family Business,” Showtime’s reality show about the daily life of a porn mogul. 19) Larry Flynt, the Hustler magazine publisher is played by Woody Harrelson in 1996’s “The People vs. Larry Flynt.” 20) New Yorker Magazine ran an article on the history of porn “Empire of the Obscene” 21) A new TV show “Starting Over” on NBC about women wanting to start their life fresh. 22) Entertainment Tonight had Dick Smothers and his porn actor son 23) Esquire Magazine had a poll where 60% of the women liked gentle style videos but also the occasional hard core porno. 24) Constitutional Law class at Loyola Law School had Robert Klass, Wicked Pictures attorney, give a speech covering the U.S. Constitution 25) Diane Sawyer Primetime special with porn star Belladonna The numbers, meanwhile, are huge. In 2001, Americans rented 750 million adult films on video or DVD alone. Total industry revenues now stand at between $5 billion and $10 billion. 100,000 adult pornographic sites now take in $1 billion annually. Satellite systems and video-on-demand now allow users to order up skin flicks without leaving their sofa or their hotel room. Adult titles are estimated to be viewed 10 times as often as standard fare by business travelers, and they’re often more expensive, too ($6.95 compared with $3.95, for instance). Sometimes Bill Asher can’t believe what he hears. As the president of Vivid Entertainment Group, the biggest name in pornography, Asher makes a living lucrative enough to send his 16-year-old daughter to one of Los Angeles’s most expensive private schools AND HE’S NOT AT ALL intimidated by the school’s other parents—lawyers, CEOs of Fortune 500 companies, even Andy Garcia. “It’s not seen as an odd thing that I’m a pornographer,” he says. “They know what I do, and they talk to me about it, it doesn’t faze anyone.” When he drops off his daughter at her friends’ homes, he says, parents open up to him. He estimates that an amazing one quarter of them have asked him for work. But what stuns him most are the reviews he gets. “They talk about my movies like you’d talk about Julia Roberts,” he says. “They say, ‘My favorite is Jenna Jameson,’ or whatever. A lot of the women will say they’d like to see more plot. It’s nice to hear the advice, but it always feels strange to me to have someone’s mother give you her take on our porn movies.” © 2003 Newsweek, Inc.

Positive Segment on Adult Industry by CBS' 60 Minutes
By: Trent Brown
11-24-2003
LOS ANGELES - Last night CBS’s 60 Minutes ran a segment by correspondent Steve Kroft on the adult entertainment industry that was surprisingly positive, suggesting that one of the biggest cultural shifts in the United States over the last 25 years has been “the widespread acceptance of sexually explicit material – pornography.” Not that the entire segment was about the definition of “obscenity”.
The segment actually starts talking about the corporate America’s silent profiteering fro m adult entertainment – General Motors, Marriot and Time Warner are named as companies that make millions from XXX material.
The same adult fare that can be found at that AEE show, the adult industry tradeshow that is held in
Las Vegas every year in January. An event attended by “manufacturers of adult products, distributors, suppliers, retail store owners, wholesalers, distributors, cable TV buyers, foreign buyers,” said AVN founder and president Paul Fishbein. “They're all here to do business, and then you have the fans.”
Fortune 500 hundred companies are involved at the distribution level. In fact, adult is believed to be the primary source of revenue for cable providers.
Last year, Comcast, the nation's largest cable company, pulled in $50 million from adult programming.
AT&T owns a large portion of Comcast, though they have publicly stated otherwise.
As a matter of fact – none of the cable providers profiting from adult products are willing to talk about it – they don’t even include it in their annual reports. “They don't break the number out. But I would guess they'd probably get a couple hundred million, maybe as much as $500 million, off of adult entertainment, in a broad sense,” says Dennis McAlpine, a partner in McAlpine Associates, who has tracked the entertainment industry for over two decades. “I would think it's probably more than what their overall profit is. The other areas are losing money. That's making money."
